Dan Fogelberg passed away from prostate cancer on December 16th, 2007. We miss him dearly.
It was December 17th, 2007 when Joe Ed Coffman (in pain of losing his favorite singer/songwriter to cancer) started calling musicians – Bob Hopkins and Woody Key – about putting together a benefit concert to play Dan’s music, and raise money for prostate cancer awareness. The first tribute concert was in 2008 at the Amarillo Globe News Center for the Performing Arts. The concerts and dream continue, raising over $300,000 in 14 years and hosting Free PSA Blood Test for men in the Amarillo and the surrounding areas. This allows men to be flagged – early detection for prostate cancer can save men’s lives. Thank you to all those who have kept Dan’s music alive, and help in continuing his quest “to defeat prostate cancer.”
